Bulk Film Loader

There is 100 feet of film inside of this bulk film loader. After I load it, I close the door so that only a small portion of the film is exposed to the light when I am taping it to the spool. Then I put it in the can and I open up the trap door so I won't scratch the film. Then I roll 41 frames. It saves money. It cuts the cost of the film in half. So, now I've got to count 41 clicks [begins to turn lever and counts each click]. Got a roll! And that is all there is to it and I just saved five bucks.

"Fancy Schmancy" Pinhole Camera

This is a "fancy schmancy" Zero Image pinhole camera, and it is a lot of fun! It has a really small aperture so you have to use really long exposures, and it gives a really wide angle view, almost a fisheye view. It doesn't have a viewfinder, so the photographer has to guess at what it is taking, but with patience and a lot of effort the photographer gets better and better!

Vincent Van Gogh Doll with Detachable Ear

I first became enthralled with Vincent [van Gogh] while living in Paris for 10 years. When I visited the Musée d'Orsay, which has many of van Gogh's pieces. I saw that self-portrait [points to print of Vincent van Gogh Self-Portrait 1889). He was staring at me so intensely. Then I walked to the other side of the room and he was looking at me intensely there, as well. That was my sign! I thought to myself, "I have to find out about this guy." The people I was with me told he died in Auvers-sur-Oise and that his tombstone was there, so I immediately went there and it made my interest in him even more intense. I went to all the places he painted because he would paint on site, and I began taking pictures of each place. Eventually someone took my photos to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the museum put my photographs on exhibition.
